Sheet Metal Nesting
Commercial nesting software is expensive per seat and rigid about how parts arrive. This is an in-house replacement: parts are laid out on the sheet with a bottom-left-fill algorithm, previewed on canvas and adjusted interactively. It currently reaches around 67% material utilisation on the test dataset, with no-fit-polygon and genetic-algorithm strategies next on the list.
